Today in Effective Internet Research class I am told to take part in the Facebook Group Discussion forum. So I logged into my account and searched for DPAEIR and searched for my class which is P10 and the question is "Internet seems to make our lives more complicated than ever before. Ironically, we do not seem to have enough time to do things". I gave some of my views and others replied and share their own views and opinions.

I feel that online discussion is way better than traditional face to face in class discussion as i was able to express myself freely without being shy or seeing other peoples' face to make it more awkward. I also find this activity to be really meaningful as it expose me to the advantages of the internet, in this case the forum. I could attain more information as the internet is available worldwide and not only enclosed to the group you are in your class.

Today i also chose a research topic, which is "Discuss the causes and effects of endangered animal species"

E-Shopping Spree

If i have $500 of cash in hand right now, i would spend it on some clothings. Its been a long time since i shopped. The website that i would go to is http://www.urbanindustry.co.uk/default.asp . This site offers a large selection of footwear, shirts, pants and accessories ranging from more than over 80 brands. However this site is more inclined towards the youths as the brands offered are like volcom, supra, vans, zoo york. Mostly are skating brands. I chose this site as it has a reduced standard shipping costs as compared to other sites. 

It also uses paypal and Mastercard for its transactions and tested by McAfee daily. It is also quite well known which also means it could be trusted. The site also has twitter, facebook and a blog. It has also been published in magazines.

The site is based in the UK. So the currency is in United Kingdom Pounds, which means i have 242.80GBP to spend on. With that amount i made my selection.

1. A Volcom hoody, violet in colour with ultra slim zip. Size M. It cost 48GBP which is $98.87.

2. Volcom denim jeans, grey wash in colour. Size 30W/30L. Cost 62GBP which is $127.72.

3. Nike shoes. Granite/ Bright cactus in colour. Size UK8. Cost 84.99GBP which is $175.09.

4. Adidas beanie. Black/grey in colour. Reversible. Cost 15GBP which is $30.90.

These are the four items that i manage to get with $500. The total costs of these items are $432.58. There is a shipping fee of 30GBP which is $61.81. With that the total cost sums up to $494.39.

I am really passionate about rock climbing. I pick up this skill when i participated in 'TPSC', Temasek Polytechnic Sports Climbing Team during my year 1 of polytechnic. Now it is my hobby to climb. Climbing requires a whole lot of fitness especially upper body strength. In climbing there are lots of routes which are set by a route setter. There are many ways to complete a route with different kind of techniques. My dream is to become a proffesional climber one day.
